CONSIGNOR INFORMATION

1st: You, the consignor make 60% profit on your sold items.

2nd:  Consignor Fee: After your percentage is calculated, a $10 consignor fee will be removed from your check IF you donate ALL of your items after the event.  IF you do not donate all of your items after the event, a $15 consignor fee ($15/1000 items consigned) will be removed from your check. Consignors that do not pick up their items after the sale will be charged the $15 consignor fee ($15/1000 items consigned).

3rd: Help during the sale and make a higher percentage on your sold items.

Example:
Sally sells 100 items @ $5 each.
Gross Sales = $500 (100 x 5)
Net Sales (70% since Sally did a helper shift at the sale) = $350 (.7 x 500)
Minus $15 Consignor Fee = $335 (350-15)
*Yay Sally!  You just got a $335 check!

Bags & Baby Carriers

Packaging: Please zip-tie items to an adult-size hanger.

Bedding, Blankets, & Textiles

Packaging: Put bedding/crib/bedroom sets together in original packaging or in giant clear plastic bags. Arrange bedding sets inside bag so that shoppers can see all of the items as well as the design/pattern. Secure the bag so that items do not get separated. Bundle blankets, cloths, and towels with ribbon or string like a package (be sure multiple pieces cannot be separated). *WE NO LONGER ACCEPT ANY CRIB BUMPERS

Price:  Price to sell! All bedding must be priced $25 and below.

Tag: If bedding is in a plastic bag, attach tag securely with packaging tape to the inside of the bag and tape the bag shut (bedding set prices vary widely and securing tags inside bags prevents tag switching). If bedding/blankets are bundled with string, attach tag directly to blanket and tuck it under the ribbon/string so that it does not easily get pulled off when shifting around during the sale.

Books, Games, & DVDs

Packaging: Use clear, self-seal bags or clear cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold multiple items together; Tie sets of books together with ribbon/string. Be sure that parts/games to video game systems (such as Vtech) cannot be separated or switched out at the sale.

Price: Prices can range from $1 to $50 in this category, depending on the item. Price to sell especially for books & DVDs as there are always lots to choose from at the sale.

Tag: When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with clear tape or blue painters tape that can be removed without damaging the item. Tape tag to the outside cover of glossy books and to the inside cover of books that will easily tear when removing the tag. Please do not use masking or double sided tape. Hole-punch JBF tag and tie to sets. *Note: We do not accept VHS tapes.

Clothing

We sell children's clothing Premie through size 20 and girl junior sizes 0-15 (odd numbers)

Be picky. Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them. No stained or damaged items will be accepted.  Please freshly clean your clothing items. Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads. Please button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing. The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell.

Package & Hang:
Hangers - Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark). Purchase hangers HERE. Hang size 0-6 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 7-20 and maternity clothing on adult-size hangers. Clothing that falls off the hanger onto the floor does not sell well. Old Navy and many outlet stores are great places to get free hangers (they throw away hangers daily!) and WalMart & Target sell child-size plastic tubehangers at a great price.

Clothing Sets - Sets tend to sell better (under size 6) so match things up if you can. All garments should be hung with the hanger hook pointing left (hanger should resemble a question mark when looking at the front of item).

Attaching Item - Safety pin or use a tagging gun to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.

Pants/Shorts - Pant-clip hangers are great but if you use a standard hanger, simply use your tagging gun to attach pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide.

Undergarments - Onesies, socks, tights, hats and infant mittens need to be in a clear zip-lock bag (you may group multiple items in one bag). Please be sure to label your tag well so that customers know if the items are short-sleeve onesies or long-sleeve onesies.

Price:
Hanging Clothing - We suggest putting outfits/sets together to price for at least $3.00.

Non-hanging Clothing - Put sets together to price for at least $3.00, but okay to price for less (i.e., 6 pair of socks for $1.50)

Tag:
Clothing on Hangers - Attach tag with a tagging gun or safety pin to the label of shirt or upper right front of pants. Insert the gun in a label or inside seam NOT through part of the clothing (to avoid making a hole or tear in the clothing). Also, pull on the tag to make sure it is properly secured and will not come off easily. Please make sure consignor tags are pulled out of the clothing so they are easily visible to the customers. Please use tagging gun or safety pins to attach tags to onesies, socks, tights, infant mittens, and accessories. Be sure to also attach multiple pieces together. Then put these items into clear zip-lock bags.

Furniture & Equipment

Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, cribs (Manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011; please bring Crib Waiver for all cribs), strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, car seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls, must have all parts, and be in good condition. If item is missing a part and may cause a safety hazard, it will be taken off the sales floor. Children's furniture - beds (toddler, twin),desks, side tables, dressers, etc.

Package: If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, zip-ties, or string to keep items attached together. Ifwooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item. All furniture and equipment must beassembled during the sale. Batteries must be included, if applicable. Please bring a Car Seat Checklist (link) for all car seats, booster seats, and car seat base or infant carrier.

Infant Items (Mommy Mart)

Nursing covers & pillows, feeding items, monitors, safety items, diapering & toileting items, rattles, and more. Please check for safety recalls on all items that you consign.

Package: If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, tagging gun, safety pins or clear self-seal bags to keep items attached together and clearly visible to shoppers. Batteries must be included, if applicable.

Shoes

Make sure that shoes are clean, clean, clean! We will be VERY selective with shoes.

Package: Fasten shoes together with zip ties. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear zip-lock bag. We prefer no shoe boxes. However, if shoes are in the box, please remove the lid,
secure it to the bottom of the box, and secure the shoes to the box (closed boxes do not sell well).

Price: Shoes must be in good condition and should start at $3.00 for infant/toddler; Add $1 each for larger size, name brand, or heavy/winter.

Tag: Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with the ribbon, string, or zip tie. For infant shoes in a clear zip-lock bag, put the tag inside the bag and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape.

Toys

Ride-on toys, block sets, dolls, remote control cars, outdoor toys, learning toys, and more! All toys must be checked for safety recalls before consigning.  Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores). If item needs batteries, JBF will provide them for $1.00 each (this will be deducted from your consignor check at the end of the sale).

Package: Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in self-seal bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

DROP OFF & INSPECTION GUIDELINES

YOU GET TO SKIP INSPECTION! Yep, just check in and then put your items away!  It's that simple!  The process will take you about 1 hour.

  • Items that are stained, torn, dirty, broken, or missing parts will be pulled from the sales floor and $.50 per item will be deducted from your consignor check.
  • Recalled items will be pulled from the sales floor and $.50 per item will be deducted from your consignor check.
  • Overpriced items will be pulled from the sales floor and $.50 per item will be deducted from your consignor check.
  • All JBF tags must be current. Tags dated older than 2 years will be marked and removed from the sales floor and $.50 per item will be deducted from your consignor check.

DROP OFF: Make sure that all items are clean and tagged (with barcoded tag). ALL TAGS MUST BE DONE ONLINE.  Log into your profile and click on ENTER TAGS.  Please make sure that they are the correct size and your printer is set on the correct resolution. We will turn away tags that do not scan or are the wrong size. We will accept JBF tags ONLY.

All clothing must be in gender and size order.  All toys must have batteries and all electronics must work!

VIP TAGGING: WE'LL TAG FOR YOU!

  1. VIP Tagging Consignors make 40% of their gross sales. The consignor fee is $20 for the first 100 items and an additional $5 per 100 items (see attached fee schedule).  There is a 200 item/$200 minimum requirement for tagged items and a 1000 item maximum per event.  All fees are removed AFTER the % is calculated.
  2. VIP Tagging Consignors are eligible for a Presale Pass which may be picked up at the event entrance during the Presale event.  Helper shifts are available to receive an earlier shopping pass but not qualify for a higher sales percentage.
  3. Prior to dropping off items with a VIP Tagger, clothing should be sorted by gender and size. All toys must be clean, in working condition, and checked for recalls (http://www.cpsc.gov/).  All battery-operated items must have batteries.  If items are received without batteries, the VIP Tagger will charge $1/battery and the amount will be deducted from the Consignor’s check. The VIP Tagger has the right to refuse any items that do not meet JBF standards. All "No Thank-You" items received (stained, worn, damaged, outdated, dirty, incomplete, etc.) will be donated.
  4. All items will be reduced and sold @ 50% off the tag price during designated discount sale days. The VIP Tagging Consignor has the option to pick up or donate their items after the event.  THIS MUST BE INDICATED BELOW ON THIS FORM.  If items are designated for DONATE they will be reduced and sold @ 75% off the tag price during designated discount sale days.
  5. After drop off, the assigned VIP Tagger will enter the Consignor’s items into their VIP tagging profile.  After all items are entered, the VIP Tagger will contact the Consignor. Once contacted, the Consignor will have 48 hours to edit/approve all barcode price tags for their items. Changes may not be made after 48 hours. The VIP Tagger will then attach tags to the items, store, and drop off the Consignor’s items at the event during designated drop off times.
  6. VIP Tagging Consignors have the option to pick up their unsold items (if not designated to be donated) and their consignor check during the designated pickup time or have their check mailed within two weeks after the event. Unsold items left after the designated pickup time will be donated to our charity partner.
  7. If VIP Consignor chooses to take home unsold items AFTER the event and brings them back to future COS JBF events, the VIP Consignor WILL receive 40% of the their VIP sold items.
